Field Service Mechanic

About the role

We're looking for a hands‑on and customer‑focused Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of diesel, petrol, and electric‑powered equipment, on‑site and in‑branch.

What you’ll do :

• Carry out on‑site servicing, repairs and maintenance across a range of mobile plant and equipment, specifically pumps & generators
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, dismantle and repair engines, hydraulics and more
• Perform scheduled maintenance in line with safety and environmental standards
• Ensure all equipment is "Ready for Hire" and up to Kennards’ Quality Operational Management standards
• Represent the Kennards Hire brand with professionalism and pride during customer interactions

About you

• Qualified tradesperson (Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic or similar)
• Ideally, you’ll have experience working on pumps and generators, and servicing petrol, diesel, and electric‑powered equipment
• Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on experience in a mechanical service or field service environment
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s licence and physically fit for field work
• Strong communication and time management skill
