Commis Chef

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Casual Commis Chef to join the PLG team at Sugar Gum Hotel in Hillside . Youll focus on basic food preparation tasks support experienced chefs and maintain a clean and organised kitchen. This opportunity is ideal for kitchen professionals ready to kickstart their career!

A local landmark located in Hillside The Sugar Gum Hotel is a favourite with the locals. The venue boasts a spacious family bistro large kids areas to keep them entertained for hours plus a casual area referred to as the social the go-to spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a casual catch-up with friends.

What will my duties include :

• Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards.
• Support senior chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks including food assembly and plating.
• Ensure food and safety procedures are being followed.
• Maintaining control and leadership in the kitchen during service times in allocated section.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workstation.
• The role you are applying for may be quite fast-paced and require you to complete tasks including but not limited to lifting boxes kegs or stock standing for long periods of time and utilising stairs.
