Job description

Kellyville Private Hospital, a 85‑bed private mental health hospital, is seeking a qualified Quality and Risk Manager to join a growing team.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or Nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years of post‑graduate experience.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Quality and Risk Manager.
  • Experience and understanding of the ACHS accreditation process within an acute hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS).
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis and reporting.
  • Understanding of Incident Management through Risk Management and Clinical Governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage Quality Improvements to meet the needs of an acute mental health hospital.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Continuous accreditation preparation by ensuring gathering of evidence measured against the NSQHS Standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations as well as Australian standards.
  • Collect, analyse data and prepare reports for committee meetings.
  • Complete Hospital audits as per the National Quality & Risk auditing schedule and HICMR Infection Control Audits.
  • Attend and participate in meetings pertaining to Quality & Risk Management and other committee meetings, including chairing as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality and risk management processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee incident investigation and reporting.
  • Develop and oversee quality improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Implement and evaluate action plans pertaining to recommendations and quality activities.
  • Lead and facilitate training programmes for staff on quality and risk management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Strategic development to promote awareness of quality improvement activities across the hospital.
  • Encourage and empower staff to identify and participate in quality and process improvement activities.
  • All employees are required to complete and maintain mandatory education and competencies in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Vaccination Preventable Disease (VPD)

  • Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Pertussis (whooping cough)
  • Provide serology evidence for the above vaccinations; must be non‑susceptible to VPDs listed.
