Release Train Engineer

Role

The Release Train Engineer's primary responsibility is to ensure the successful execution of the Agile Release Train against agreed Program Increment (PI) plans and objectives. You will also define PI plans, effectively lead and coordinate the agile teams through this process by facilitating agile ceremonies for alignment, tracking and dependency management.

Some of your duties will include:

• Create strategies for the effective planning, monitoring, reporting, establishment and outcomes for agile delivery teams to deliver on the program's strategy and contribute to the creation of value and the delivery of program benefits.
• Conduct complex agile ceremonies, including program increment planning, showcases or demonstrations, scrum of scrums, system demos and retrospectives as well as synchronisation across the train and improvement planning.
• Ensure alignment of all agile teams with the agile and scrum processes, practices, patterns and principles and contribute to the organisations progress in agile maturity.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of, and demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment, of project management practice, leading to successful ICT improvement or transformation creating realised business value.
• Experience in leading in a range of iterative, incremental and agile software development methodologies ( Scrum, Kanban, ScrumBan, SAFe, DevOps)
• Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of project best practices, as well as, knowledge of new or emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation.
• Proven facilitation and leadership skills in delivering continuous product and service delivery, utilising demonstrated agile management practices.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification is highly desirable.
• Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications, Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management or Change Management, are highly desirable.
• SAFe certified
