The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Audiologist to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Undertake routine audiological tasks with established protocols including diagnosis, rehabilitation, case management, record keeping and reporting in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
- As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement / decision making to more complex clinical cases under the supervision of a more senior clinician
- Provide input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the Audiology service
- Develop the ability to use evidence-based practice for clinical decision making and actively engage in the Audiology Research strategy
About you
To be successful in this position you will require :
A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in audiologyRegistration with Audiology AustraliaBlue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)Benefits

The Audiology service for Gold Coast Health is located at the Gold Coast University Hospital and closely located alongside the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) service. Audiology predominantly supports children referred for audiological testing under the Queensland Healthy Hearing Program and patients of all ages referred by hospital specialist teams including the ENT department, Paediatrics and Child Development Services.
