The Opportunity :

AIA are currently hiring a Senior Manager – Risk to join their Group Insurance department in either Melbourne or Sydney. Within this role you will act as a first line risk representative and work closely with Group Product, Pricing, Distribution, and Administration teams, as well as Enterprise Risk & Compliance (Line 2 Risk), to embed a proactive and effective risk culture.

To do this successfully you will :

Develop and deliver the Risk & Compliance Plan for the Group Insurance Office

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business

Own and manage risks within the Business Unit, including control design, implementation, and testing

Monitor risk profiles, escalate issues, and support root cause analysis and remediation

Provide risk insights and reporting to leadership, Board, and committees

Support change initiatives by identifying and mitigating associated risks

Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements

Drive continuous improvement and lean thinking across risk practices

Contribute to third-party risk management through vendor audits

Successful applications will demonstrate :

Previous experience within a management role in either Line 1 or Line 2 Risk within Life insurance

High stakeholder satisfaction and strong internal relationships

Effective management of issues, incidents, and remediations

The ability to provide timely and insightful risk reporting

Experience delivering measurable contributions to financial outcomes, including cost management and productivity

Exceptional leadership ability, in particular within fostering a strong risk culture
