Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Sydney / Melbourne at SafetyCulture

The role is part of the Platform Engineering team. You’ll work with a team of co-located Engineers to build the infrastructure architecture required to run the SafetyCulture platform. Your primary focus will be the deployment, management and configuration of our infrastructure on AWS, with an emphasis on an infrastructure-as-code approach to minimize manual intervention.

Responsibilities

Designing / Implementing a redundant Postgres ecosystem
Building a scalable, fault-tolerant and cost-effective architecture
Collaborating with Kubernetes, Aurora, RDS, CI / CD practices and build technologies such as Buildkite
Automating everything using Terraform, Python, Bash, and related tools
Assisting teams across the engineering stack and implementing security and risk mitigation best practices
Working closely with software engineers to provide guidance on architectural patterns and goals

What You'll Need

Deep understanding of Postgres, Kubernetes, and GitOps

Experience deploying and managing servers, services and networking on AWS or similar environments

Infrastructure-as-code approach to managing infrastructure

Linux system administration

Strong configuration management, CI / CD experience

Programming experience in Python or Go

Experience managing and deploying in complex Kubernetes environments

Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Aurora, and RDS in large organisations

Ability to demonstrate SafetyCulture values (Think Customer, Open Honest Always, Better as a Team, Be Bold Bring Action)

Experience operating microservice applications

Nice To Have

Experience applying software delivery practices to infrastructure and operations (Site Reliability Engineering)

Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD and / or Flux

Experience managing Kafka clusters

Ability to write Node.js, Python or Go code to break down barriers between dev and ops
