What’s the role?
- Build practical in-home capacity to support the growing up of healthy and safe children
- Identify challenges and address issues contributing to concerns around safety and wellbeing
- Improve family engagement with health and education services
- Support safety planning and risk management for families impacted by domestic and family violence
- Connect families to relevant support services, such as health care, welfare support and parenting programs.
Is this role right for you?
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing or equivalent.
- High standard of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to relate sensitively and appropriately with vulnerable people.
- Well-developed time management, decision-making and organisational skills to meet reporting deadlines and manage a multi-disciplinary team.
- An understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal cultural values.
- Familiarisation with the Signs of Safety and Safe and Together models of practice.
- Hold (or have the ability to hold) an NT Driver’s License
- Ability to travel regularly to remote and isolated communities by 4WD and light aircraft.
may be able to offer to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
