  • About the Role
  • Joining our team on a casual basis, Admin Clerks are responsible for all administrative duties within the Day of Surgery Units.

    This role undertakes all identified tasks and duties as part of a team that works collaboratively and cooperatively, sharing roles and responsibilities to meet the needs of the customer.

    • Key Accountabilities
    • Providing comprehensive customer focused service to all aspects of the Day of Surgery Unit
    • Ensuring Reception and waiting areas are maintained to a high standard of presentation
    • Attending to the telephones in a timely, proficient and friendly manner and be able to determine who the appropriate recipient of calls will be
    • Attending to the Reception desk, directing visitors and providing timely and accurate information in response to queries by patients and visitors
    • Accurately admitting and discharging patients in accordance with hospital / department policies and procedures.
    • Flexibility to work morning and afternoon shifts between 0530-2130 across a Monday to Friday roster, with occasional Saturdays is essential for this role.

    • To be successful in this role, you will act as a positive role model while demonstrating an ability to foster a culture that is positive, friendly, cooperative and forward thinking. In addition, you will also demonstrate :

    • Previous experience in administrative / reception position
    • Previous health services experience working in a doctors, specialists or hospital environment
    • Ability to work independently and withing a team environment as required
    • Able to complete tasks within designated timeframes
    • Computer literacy
    • Certificate in Medical Terminology
    • Experience in hospital mainframes systems
    • Remuneration
    • On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $32.83 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances
