Senior Wildlife Attendant

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide exceptional daily care to our diverse captive animal collection
• Prepare food and feed a wide range of native species
• Clean and maintain enclosures and exhibits to the highest standards
• Conduct enrichment activities and monitor animal wellbeing
• Keep accurate records and contribute to report writing
• Participate in enclosure upkeep and general maintenance tasks

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of two years paid work with hands on experience with a variety of native and or exotic animals in a Zoo / Wildlife environment
• Relevant animal husbandry qualifications and / or active progression towards a zoo keeping qualification (highly regarded)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with diverse guests and staff, and meet documentation requirements

High level of physical fitness to perform physically demanding duties

• A current manual driver’s licence
• Q Fever Vaccination
• Availability to work a flexible 7-day roster, including weekends and school holidays is a must
