About the team
The Internal Communication and Creative Services team is a multi-disciplinary team within the Communications Branch. Our team supports departmental priorities by developing timely, accessible and engaging content delivered through digital channels, news articles, executive communication products and all-staff events. We also manage the department’s intranet content and provide graphic design and audio-visual services for internal and external audiences.
The opportunity
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to lead our intranet sub-team, the key custodians of content on iCentral, the department’s intranet. They ensure information is current, engaging, usable and accessible. This role drives a critical internal content platform and works with communication experts and internal stakeholders to deliver engaging and user-centred intranet content. You will work across the department’s broad remit, including science, technology, manufacturing, resources, building and construction.

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens. Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette. The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT, NSW, QLD, and VIC based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered.
