At the Disability Trust we are about finding the right job for the person, not the right person for the job. We are here to help support you throughout your employment journey from helping with quotes and support letters to on-the-job support and training.

To be eligible for supported employment you must have a NDIS plan and receive or be eligible for the Disability Support Pension.

What is supported employment?

It provides extra support and training for people living with a disability to have a meaningful job while earning a wage. You will be supported to try new things and get to enjoy being part of a great team.

Supported Employment opportunities:

Plant Room Café

Based in Springhill, Horsley and Hammondville, The Disability Trust run three cafes where team members have the opportunity to learn barista skills, customer service, money handling and food preparation.

Lawn and Grounds Maintenance

Illawarra Vocational Services (IVS) go out in the community and mow residential lawns and commercial properties. This team also complete packaging jobs for NSW heath and Service NSW. For more information, visit our IVS website here.

Test and Tagging

Work with a commercial test and tagging business within the community testing different appliances and machines to make sure they are electrically safe.

Sports Ready

Within our Sport and Recreation team our Sports Ready programs are based in primary school disability support units. Assist in demonstrating sporting skills and encouraging students to engage, learn and master the sporting skill being taught. You will help with setting up activities and games, packing up equipment and assist presenting daily awards.

Starting a new job can be daunting however at the Disability Trust you will have a team of committed and experienced staff and supervisors to assist you every day. Throughout your working life, our dedicated staff will be there for support, training and advice. They will meet with you regularly to ensure you are enjoying your work and to guide and support you to achieve your goals.
