Our Client, Rosebank Automotive is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Motor Mechanic to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicle components, ensuring all repairs meet performance and safety standards.
Tasks Include
- Work with our customers to understand their concerns and their descriptions of symptoms.
- Use diagnostic equipment for inspection and conducting tests to identify and diagnose issues with vehicles.
- Helping the customer to understand the issues and repair options in a simple and clear manner. This includes providing cost estimates and obtaining work approvals.
- Undertaking inspections and repairs which may involve dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components.
- Examining vehicle components for wear, damage or defects.
- Replacing / repairing and then reassembling damaged or malfunctioning parts of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems and electrical systems.
- Referring to manufacturer service manuals and technical guides for specifications and repair methods
- Performing scheduled maintenance services such as fluid changes, tyre rotations, lubrication and engine tune-ups.
- Ensure engines are running efficiently by adjusting or replacing ignition components, fuel systems and other parts as needed.
- Testing vehicle systems and components to ensure they meet performance standards and making adjustments as necessary.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory pollution controls when performing repairs and maintenance.
- Answering and assisting all emergency service calls in relation to vehicle breakdown.
- Maintaining vehicle records and recording all work performed on vehicles, including parts used, labour hours and diagnostic findings, for billing and future reference.
- Maintaining high OHS standards, including a tidy and safe work environment, cleaning tools and equipment and disposing of waste properly.
- Being up to date on new automotive technology through training programs, workshops, and other development opportunities.
Qualifications :
A certificate IV or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is required.3 years of full-time recent relevant experience working as a motor mechanic is required.Experience in automotive repair and maintenance.Understanding of engine diagnostics, mechanical systems and repair procedures.Experience using diagnostic tools and service manuals.Familiarity with emissions and pollution control standards.Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Salary range : $75,000-85,000
