Food Safety Technician – Quality Assurance / Quality ControlAbout One HarvestAt One Harvest, we're passionate about bringing fresh, healthy, and convenient food to Australian families.With over 50 years of history, we operate nationally across multiple sites, supplying Australia's leading supermarkets and food service customers with fresh salads, vegetables, and ready-to-eat meals.Our purpose is simple —to make fresh, healthy eating easy — and our people are at the heart of achieving that goal every day.About the RolesWe're seeking multiple Food Safety Technicians – Quality Assurance / Quality Control to join our Technical Team at our Bairnsdale, VICTORIA site.These positions are hands-on roles, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading Australian food manufacturer while developing your technical career.In these hands-on roles, you'll help maintain and strengthen our site's food safety and quality systems, drive technical excellence in first-time quality, train and coach operational teams and ensure compliance with customer, legislative and One Harvest standards.You'll also support site improvement initiatives aligned with our "One Harvest Quad 5 Strategy", playing a key role in driving food safety culture and excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and oversee food safety and quality compliance across site operations.Conduct verification, validation, and compliance activities in line with the One Harvest Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

Collaborate with operations and technical teams to maintain high food safety and quality standards.Participate in internal and external audits (BRC, WQA, Coles, ALDI, HACCP, GMP).

Assist the Food Safety & Compliance Manager to ensure all testing schedules meet customer and budget requirements.Identify and investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.Support supplier assurance activities and raw material trials.Assist with new product development and factory trials to validate new processes or materials.Coach, mentor, and support the development of technical and hygiene teams.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet KPIs – zero recalls / withdrawals, complaint reduction, and audit compliance.Demonstrate ability and enthusiasm to drive first-time technical excellence on the floor.About YouYou'll be an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with a strong understanding of food safety principles and compliance systems.You Will BringDegree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).

Experience in food manufacturing (ideally chilled or ready-to-eat products).

Solid knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSANZ, and third-party certification standards (BRC, WQA, retailer standards).

Proven ability to conduct or support internal and external audits.Strong communication skills and ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting.Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with a solutions-driven mindset.Experience in technical or hygiene team leadership.Exposure to customer or retailer audit processes.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.Attributes for SuccessHigh attention to detail and integrity in all aspects of work.Pragmatic, collaborative, and supportive team player.Resilient and calm under pressure.Passionate about food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Strong problem-solving, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.Drive technical excellence through cross-functional departments.This role will be subject to our standard pre-employment checks, which includes employment references, working rights and / or medical check, dependent on role.
