  • Location : (Shepparton) Hybrid model remote and office (flexible across different Holstep Health sites)
  • Position Type : Fixed Term (FullTime and PartTime Positions)
  • Grade : Grade 1 and Grade 2 positions available
  • Hours per Fortnight : 30 to 80 hours per fortnight
  • Salary : $76000 $107000 prorata

  • Your New Role :

    The Allied Health Clinician (Speech Pathologist) position sits within the School Readiness Allied Health team providing paediatric allied health capacitybuilding support to early childhood education and care services within Shepparton and the broader Goulburn region.

    The School Readiness Allied Health Program is funded by the Department of Education and aims to support kindergarten educators and the families in their centres to build their capacity to assist young childrens learning in the areas of wellbeing communication and access / inclusion.

    The role will be supported through collaboration with a broader paediatric allied health team consisting of Speech Pathologists Psychologists and Occupational Therapists.

    As a Speech Pathologist in the School Readiness Allied Health team you will be responsible for providing allied health support to educators and families in order to build their skills in supporting childrens communication through coaching modelling group training case consultations and other disciplinespecific services.

    You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Purposefully engage kindergarten educators to identify and support the skill development of children as they prepare for school.
  • Provide secondary consultation to kindergartens in the format of coaching across a range of platforms (e.g. in person telehealth email phone etc..
  • Undertake disciplinespecific tasks such as the provision of information in relation to expressive receptive and pragmatic language development speech sound development engagement in book sharing and early literacy activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines within the team to provide a high quality multidisciplinary service.
  • Effectively manage a caseload through organisation of appointments handover of services for disciplinespecific support and / or joint delivery of sessions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to maximise service coordination and cooperation.

  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Experience working in paediatric allied health with experience working in kindergarten settings an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team to develop and implement evidencebased programs that meet the goals and desired outcomes for children families and educators.
  • An openness to working in a capabilitybuilding and coaching role with educators and families to promote skills and knowledge of child development.
