Introduction

The ParentsNext program is a government initiative designed to assist eligible parents to plan and prepare for employment by the time their children go to school. It operates in all non-remote areas of Australia.

This important role works with disadvantaged parents to assist them in preparing for their return to the workforce.

ParentsNext Consultants work with parents to assist them in setting education and employment goals. You willhelp our customers with developing a pathway plan and linking them to services and activities in the local community to help achieve their goals and overcome barriers to employment.

The opportunity

• Empower our customers by helping them identify individual education and employment goals
• Provide our customers with career advice and labour market information on local employment and education opportunities
• Collaboratively identify strategies to meet individual needs using a holistic approach
• Engage with the local community to build relationships and coordinate and refer our customers to community agencies
• Assist customers apply for jobs, develop and tailor CVs, prepare for interviews, understand employer expectations and to build employability skills
