Tas Trucks are expanding our product and knowledge base to include Western Star and Man Trucks and have a great opportunity for a driven Workshop Mechanic to join our team in Launceston. In this dynamic role, you will carry out the diagnosis, servicing and repairs of a wide range of heavy and commercial vehicles. This role will suit a heavy diesel mechanic that is fully qualified or a light vehicle mechanic looking to become dual trade qualified.

Core duties will include :

  • Diagnosis and repair of a wide range of heavy and commercial vehicles
  • Hands-on mentoring of Apprentices
  • Field-service work as required
  • Carrying out full services and breakdown repairs
  • Ensuring all work carried out is in accordance with manufacturer requirements and standards for warranty

The successful candidate will have :

  • Cert III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical or Light Vehicle Mechanical
  • Demonstrated experience with European or Japanese truck brands
  • Strong ability to work unsupervised
  • Process and compliance driven mindset, with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency
  • HR or Forklift licence is desirable but not essential
  • Awareness of safe working procedures
