Bank Relationship Manager - Sydney, Australia

The Bank Relationship Manager manages key relationships with banks, payment networks and other counterparty service providers that enable the company's products and services for a specific operational region. This is a business-critical role within the treasury team, facilitating engagements between internal Convera functions and banking / payment partner services, while maintaining a strong value add relationship with these partners.

  • You will be responsible for
  • Strengthen and maintain bank and service provider relationships to support Convera's business requirements and network expansion strategies.
  • Partner with the Convera's Network Development Team to build a best-in-class network that effectively supports the business' commercial strategies
  • We foresee that this role, currently standalone in Australia, will soon require team growth. Our expectation is that you will be recruiting to grow this team in the coming year. Your team will then be responsible for all administration of counterparty relationships, including but not limited to onboarding, account opening / closing, annual due diligence and more
  • Act as primary point of contact for communication with counterparties, and provide a point of escalation for all internal stakeholders regarding operational issues needing resolution
  • Facilitate regular meetings with internal stakeholders, banks and service providers to review existing service performance and costs, and new product offerings / requirements and opportunities
  • Champion banking operations services internally providing education and insights to the wider business on the network and its operational and product impact
  • Provide knowledge and support to sales & product teams regarding bank network and capabilities
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements that enhances end-to-end business processes
  • Work from home or from our Sydney CBD office, or a combination. We are flexible.
  • Work experience
  • Solid experience over multiple years in Treasury / Banking / Finance, in a role managing external relationships
  • People manager experience a plus
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Skills & Competencies required
  • Working knowledge and experience with global banking products and services and clearing systems
  • Ability to understand banking services required by the company, and communicate requirements clearly to external partners
  • Self-starter with ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners and other stakeholders, and deliver expected results
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and evaluation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Able to take a strong leadership role in implementing policies and procedures to support organizational objectives and business success
  • Able to have transparent and productive relationships with peers and collaborate successfully
  • Ability to be a company-wide change-agent that influences strategic actions and mindset changes
  • Experience and skills with Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, project management and leadership skills.
