The Web department at Australia Zoo is primarily responsible for the development of all Australia Zoo websites. Web Developers are employed predominately to develop websites and content and maintain these after publishing. They are required to be multi-skilled and may, in some cases have certificates, qualifications and specialised backgrounds.
The position holder will have a demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance environment, with a capacity to deliver all requirements of the role, a great work ethic and the ability to work to a high standard within the team.
Duties Include :
- Maintenance and updating of existing websites with direction from Senior Web Developer.
- Development of additions to functionality of existing websites.
- Rebuilding of low performance or high maintenance sections of websites to more CMS-like structure.
- Where possible, use commercially available systems in preference to developing bespoke systems.
- Source and update content for all websites working with Advertising and Digital Manager and PR Team.
- Assist customers with issues with any online transactions, from ticketing to newsletter registrations.
- Assist staff with queries regarding internal systems. (e.g. Encounter Booking System, Design Request Form).
- Keeping updated and stay abreast with current and developing technologies that may increase the efficiency or add to the UX / UI of our websites.
- Finding fixes for bugs and compatibility issues in order to keep sites consistent and uniform across various platforms and devices.
- Ensuring website functionality, responsiveness and stability across devices (I.e. : desktop, mobile, tablet).
- Email campaign and audience management.
- Raising support tickets and issues with relevant third-party systems.
- Development and Maintenance of internal systems built on standard web technologies.
Essential Criteria :
Strong working knowledge of WordPress, React, Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL, and git.Hold current Driver’s Licence.Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.Minimum 2 years in development and maintenance of websites.Preferred Criteria :
Experience working with NextJS, AWS, Docker, WordPress Development, SASS, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.Experience integrating APIs into software systems.Experience / understanding of CD / CI deployments and pipelines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
