We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our team!
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, as our Management Accountant, your role will be to complete accounting activities for the DefendTex Group, supporting the provision of accurate and timely financial and management reporting for internal and external stakeholders, as well as maintaining the integrity of accounting records and regulatory compliance.
About the Role
- Preparation of Business Activity Statements
- Ensuring accurate tracking of job costing for manufacturing
- Overseeing payroll and the completion of Payroll Tax Returns
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Assisting with general ledger account and project code management
- Ensuring Accounting standards and policies are adhered to
- Supervision of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
- Training and mentoring junior staff
- Managing project cost allocations and cross billing between companies
- Overview of intercompany reconciliation and bank reconciliation tasks
- Developing and improving efficient, automated reporting templates using DefendTex’s ERP system.
- Managing the Fixed Asset register
- Proactively identifying and supporting cost management and efficiency initiatives.
- Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives
About You
Proven work experience as a Management Accountant or similar rolePrevious experience managing a small team preferredExperience in a Chartered Accounting firm can be advantageousProfessional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA advantageousBachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related fieldIn-depth understanding of business bookkeeping proceduresSolid knowledge of accounting regulationsProcess and deadline-driven mindset with a keen eye for detailCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomaliesAdvanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposesEligibility to meet Baseline security clearance requirements.Not be a prohibited person under Section 3 of the Firearms Act 1996 (Victoria).Great communication, work ethic and can-do attitude.Time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships and be a team player.Why Us?
