We are partnering with a highly regarded, science-led environmental consultancy based in Perth that specialises in terrestrial fauna assessments and ecological research. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, ethical practice, and deep regional expertise, this organisation is seeking a Senior to Principal Terrestrial Zoologist to join their close-knit team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a zoologist who wants to take on a senior technical role with real influence - working on complex, often remote projects that contribute to the understanding and conservation of Western Australia's unique fauna.

About the Role

You will lead and deliver terrestrial fauna surveys, manage field teams, and provide high-level technical input across a range of ecological assessments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, values scientific integrity, and is looking to grow their leadership in a supportive, specialist environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, lead, and deliver terrestrial fauna surveys and assessments Provide expert analysis and interpretation of field data Prepare high-quality technical reports and environmental documentation Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to team development Engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure best-practice outcomes Contribute to the strategic direction and continued growth of the business

About You

Degree in Zoology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field Extensive experience in terrestrial fauna survey design and implementation Strong knowledge of WA fauna, survey techniques, and relevant legislation Excellent technical writing and data interpretation skills Proven ability to lead field teams and manage project deliverables Comfortable working in remote field conditions and small team environments Passionate about ecological science and ethical environmental practice
