El1 Assistant Director Internal Audit And Governance

Salary Range : $118,220-$129,820+ Attractive Superannuation

The General Counsel Division provides support to DVA business groups by providing current and effective legislative and legal advice to assist them in the delivery of corporate goals. The Division is also responsible for providing audit, Comcover administration, business continuity plan (BCP) coordination, and risk management within DVA. This provides a framework that aims to minimise risks against DVA and ensure controls are in place to mitigate those risks. The Division consists of the following sections; Audit and Risk Management, Information Law, Legal Advising, Legislation and Instruments and Litigation.

A vacancy exists for an Assistant Director Internal Audit and Governance. The role supports the delivery of DVA's internal audit program including the monitoring and tracking of all internal audit recommendations; stakeholder and contract management; and support of committee operations. Experience within an Internal Audit and Governance team (particularly in a government environment) is highly desirable.

• Duties
• Manage internal audit activities within DVA;
• Maintain stakeholder relationship with internal audit provider including the coordination of briefings, meetings, reports;
• Manage onboarding / offboarding processes;
• Internal audit recommendations monitoring and tracking, including maintaining registers and preparing committee papers;
• Manage digital interfaces to build awareness, capability and understanding of internal audit practices;
• Undertaking small projects as directed;
• Provide back-up to the Secretariat services for audit committees including minute taking;
• Look for, and implement, business improvement practices;
• Provide support to the Director.
