What you will do :

Our Grounds and Maintenance team will ensure the highest possible standards in presentation and safety of Turtle Sands’, assets, grounds and facilities.  As department manager, you will settle into our Head of Department management structure and assist in providing leadership, oversight and daily coordination to grounds and maintenance duties, task allocation and team rosters. You will ensure effective communication and liaison with other departmental leaders and resort management, to guarantee a smooth resort operation and product.  You will :

  • Attend and contribute to head of department meetings.
  • Ensure the grounds and maintenance team have direction daily and receive any training and development that may be required.
  • Prepare grounds and maintenance team members rosters ensuring adequate coverage as required
  • Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained
  • Manage the team and all resources in a cost-effective manner and operate the department within budget.
  • Ensure and maintain a safe environment for our employees and guests
  • Wear your uniform with pride – you are happy to get your hands dirty to support your team and go the extra mile with a smile on your dial to assist our guests
  • Act on incidental guest service assistance with minor maintenance repairs across our sites, cabins, villas, amenities and other facilities.
  • Assist the team to service the pools - cleaning, dosing, water balance, repairs and maintenance as required
  • Assist with any on site projects, or repairs as required.

What you will bring :

  • Proven experience in leading, influencing and bringing out the ‘best’ in a team – park, resort or hotel exposure will be highly regarded
  • Trade qualification (or similar) is a bonus but not necessary
  • Hands on experience in maintenance of plant, gardens and in operating related equipment / machinery and / or pool maintenance
  • A can-do attitude and an ability to flex style depending on your ‘customer’
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic hygiene requirements and safe working procedures
  • You are hardworking, energetic, enthusiastic and possess a high level of physical fitness
  • Current driver's license (able to drive a manual work vehicle when required)
