Position Overview

The Metal Fabricator plays a crucial role, responsible for all aspects of metal fabrication related to Council’s fixed and non-fixed assets. This includes undertaking reactive repairs, proactive maintenance, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure the safety and functionality of our infrastructure.

As a Metal Fabricator, you will work under limited supervision, taking the initiative to complete tasks efficiently and effectively while adhering to relevant standards and regulations.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Metal Fabricator who is eager to contribute to our team and community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in metal fabrication and welding, along with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Essential qualifications include a Trade Certificate in Metal Fabrication or Welding / Boilermaker (Cert 3), a Building Industry Induction Certificate (white card), and a Class C driver’s licence.
• Proficiency in MIG / TIG and stick welding is required, along with a proven ability to interpret plans and undertake work effectively.
• Desirable qualifications include an LH or HR driver’s licence and a forklift licence.
• A solid understanding of work health and safety policies and procedures is also preferred.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong decision-making abilities, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to teamwork and customer service.

• Hours of work :   Permanent full-time position 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight
