Maintenance Welder – Site-Based Wetherill Park

Our client is a National Leader leading manufacturer of surfactants and supplier of phosphates in the Australian market. Our comprehensive product range services the industrial, construction, mining, food and household & personal care markets.
We’re currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Welder for site-based work, with a strong background in stainless steel and mild steel welding. This role is ideal for someone confident in both fabrication and on-site installation, with a focus on pipework and structural components. If you're the right fit, there’s a real opportunity for this role to become permanent.

Position Brief Below:

• MONDAY TO FRIDAY WORK
• WETHERILL PARK LOCATION
• OCCASIONAL OVERTIME WHERE REQUIRED
• 7am – 3pm
• $60.30 per hour + overtime rates if required
• 3 month interim contract with potential permanency for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel (304/316) and mild steel.
• Weld and patch pipework ranging from ½” to 6” in diameter.
• Fabricate new pipework systems, supports, and frames.
• Carry out on-site installation of fabricated systems.
• Fit and install valves, flanges, and other fittings.

Requirements:

• Welding Tickets and or trade cert
• Proven experience with TIG/MIG welding in industrial or chemical plant settings.
• Strong knowledge of stainless (304/316) and mild steel welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Awareness of safety procedures and PPE requirements in high-risk work environments.
• Experience with pipe fitting and mechanical installations.
• Previous work in chemical, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
• Forklift Licence - Highly Desirable
• Confined Space Certification - Highly Desirable
• EWP (Elevated Work Platform) - Highly Desirable
