Job description

The Courier is looking for a skilled reporter, hungry for strong news stories, to join our team.

You'll be able to write quickly, accurately and concisely. You will know how to track down and verify stories so we're not just first with the news, but also correct. This is a role working in a fast-paced, digital-first newsroom that publishes throughout the day. You will be well-versed in using social media platforms and be able to sell your story for maximum audience reach. You will also have a good gauge on what stories our audience is interested in.

What we're looking for :

You'll love chasing hard news as well as digging deep and finding the story behind the story
Expertise in building contacts and seeking out exclusive content
Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail
Experience creating basic video packages
At least two years of newsroom experience
Experience in Canva and tools like Flourish is strongly desirable
