About the role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our wholesale bakery in Kensington Park, South Australia. As an integral part of the Paesano Bakery team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our production facility, optimising workflows, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of our bakery operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and oversee all bakery operations, including production planning, inventory management, packing, and quality control.
  • Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Analyse production data and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Motivate a team of skilled bakers and packing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and materials.
  • New Product Development in collaboration with our baking team.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute strategic plans for the bakery's growth and expansion.
  • Admin duties from time to time.

What we are looking for

  • Experience (3+ years) in the same or a similar role within a bread bakery or the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong operational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of bakery operations, production processes, and quality control measures.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Proficient in data analysis and using technology to drive operational improvements.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as food science, operations management, or business administration, is desirable but not essential.
