Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager People & Capability, the Coordinator Safety & Wellbeing will lead a small team and partner across Council to ensure safe, healthy and engaged workplaces. This role will provide specialist advice, support system implementation, and strengthen compliance while promoting a proactive, people-first safety culture.
Recent safety audits and system upgrades have created a strong foundation to build upon. The next phase will focus on embedding psychosocial safety practices, developing capability across all levels of the organisation, and driving engagement through education and collaboration. Working with both corporate and operational teams, you will help shape a culture that values safety, wellbeing and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety and proven experience in delivering safety and wellbeing programs within a complex or mixed operational environment. You are confident engaging with senior leaders, trusted by staff, and motivated by the opportunity to influence positive change.
