Intermediate Auditor – Pitcher Partners

As an auditor you will work with a diverse and interesting client base, including ASX listed companies across a broad range of industry sectors, such as Mining, Technology, Financial Services, Property, Education, Health and Not for Profit. The successful candidate will be working with Partners, Directors and Managers with extensive audit knowledge. The role is a permanent full‑time position, Monday to Friday, based in the Brisbane CBD office. You will be required to travel to clients, with weekly or fortnightly stays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients concerning audit and accounting queries.
  • Collate and document audit evidence over material balances and transactions recorded in financial reports.
  • Draft annual financial reports.
  • Conduct and document audit planning and completion procedures.
  • Conduct statutory audits with general purpose financial reporting.
  • Assist senior staff with ad‑hoc assignments.
  • Review audit work papers prepared over straightforward areas by junior audit staff.
  • Complete other assurance engagements as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Commerce or Business degree majoring in Accounting; currently studying CA / CPA.
  • At least 2 years' experience as an external auditor, ideally within a mid‑tier or top‑tier audit firm.
  • Understanding of assurance / audit skills and techniques, IFRS or Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), Australian Auditing Standards (ASA) and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional client skills and proactive client‑management approach.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
