Marine Technician

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Marine Technician to join our team at Rockingham Boating. This is a full-time role based in Rockingham, Western Australia. As a key member of our Service team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of a wide range of marine vessels and equipment.

What you'll be doing

Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of marine engines, including outboard motors and jet skis.

Undertake servicing and maintenance tasks on boats and jet skis including 2-strokes, 4-stroke, carburetors, trailers and electrical accessories.

Fit, install and repair marine accessories and equipment such as sounders, VHF radios, antennas, and navigation lights.

Carry out sea trials and testing of marine vessels.

Perform regular inspections and ongoing preventative maintenance on all marine assets

Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, with a focus on quality and safety

Maintain detailed records of all work undertaken and parts used

Adhere to company protocols and industry standards.

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Marine Mechanics (preferred but not essential)
• Previous experience within the boating industry (preferred but not essential)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to provide high-quality service
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Skippers ticket (preferred but not essential)
• Forklift ticket (preferred but not essential)
• Must have valid Australian work rights or appropriate visa to work legally in Australia
