The Opportunity:

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join the Hume City Council as a Team Leader in Planning Investigations and Compliance. This leadership role is crucial within our Planning and Development Department, contributing to the delivery of compliance and prosecution outcomes in one of Victoria's fastest-growing municipalities.

As a successful candidate, you will have substantial experience in Investigations, particularly with a focus on Environmental Planning and Enforcement. Your ability to build strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be essential in this position, as you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of successful outcomes for our environment and community.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary Qualifications: You should have completed tertiary qualifications in planning, investigations, or a related discipline. This educational background will help you bring valuable knowledge and expertise to the role.
• Proven Experience: You will be able to demonstrate your Investigative skills and experience gained in either the public or private sector. Previous experience in relevant planning matters will be vital in performing effectively in this position.
• Local Government Knowledge: A deep understanding of Local Government operations and awareness of issues at both the Local and State levels will be highly beneficial in navigating the complexities of the role.
• Interpersonal Skills: The role demands excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation abilities. These skills will facilitate effective collaboration and communication with various stakeholders.
• Experience in Planning Areas: Having experience in Environmental Planning will be advantageous in addressing the unique challenges associated with a rapidly expanding municipality.
