About The Opportunity
IFYS currently has an opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join our adult Specialist Homeless Service. The Housing Support Worker assists in the day‑to‑day service delivery of housing responses, which are accessed by individuals experiencing homelessness on the Sunshine Coast. With direction from the Coordinator, this role will undertake a range of overnight, morning or afternoon shifts delivering support to residents of the program.

Key accountabilities
Provide information and advice, emotional and social support to address the welfare concerns of residents in housing crisisMaintain routines and complete tasks, to support a safe, healthy and therapeutic environmentWork collaboratively as part of a multi‑agency team, utilising the support of administrative staff, volunteers and onsite security in carrying out tasksAssist individuals to comply with the terms of their residence or overnight stay in homeless accommodation, taking compliance action as necessarySupport individuals to access specialist supports and services as requiredComplete administrative tasks, including but not limited to, case noting, maintaining service user records, the completion of daily logs, and the provision of accurate and timely informationTo be successful in this role you will possess
Demonstrated professional experience working with homelessness or crisis accommodation servicesStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage crisis situations in a therapeutic mannerStrong stakeholder engagement skills within a multi-disciplinary settingA Certificate IV or higher qualification in a relevant area of study is highly regardedMust hold or be willing to obtain if successful
