About the role :

As a Treatment Plant Assistant Operator at Unitywater, you will support the operation and maintenance of our sewage treatment and recycled water plants. Working alongside experienced Operators, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to protecting public health and the environment.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the treatment plant, including monitoring processes and SCADA systems.
  • Collecting and analysing water samples to support compliance with environmental standards.
  • Supporting routine reporting and record-keeping tasks using computerised systems.
  • Performing general labouring, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance to keep the plant clean, safe, and operational.
  • Participating in training and development, including the opportunity to attain a Cert III in Wastewater Treatment (if not already qualified).

  • A Certificate III in wastewater treatment or a willingness to complete it within two years (Unitywater supported).
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and strong time management skills.
  • A proactive team-oriented attitude with a focus on safety and customer service.
  • The ability to follow instructions, keep accurate records, and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
