We are seeking a commercially astute Asset Portfolio Manager to play a pivotal role in overseeing the strategic and operational performance of a diverse portfolio of commercial embedded networks and energy assets. This position is responsible for driving financial outcomes, strengthening client relationships, and leading performance enhancement initiatives aimed at increasing asset value, optimising returns, and achieving key ESG objectives.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio and Financial Management : Oversee the full lifecycle performance of a diverse energy asset portfolio—including embedded networks, solar, and battery systems—across retail, office, and commercial properties.
- Manage operations, compliance, and commercial performance of embedded networks, including tariffs, billing, metering, and regulatory requirements.
- Portfolio growth : Lead the integration of energy systems and operational assets into live environments.
- Collaborate with Development and Construction teams to ensure seamless asset handover to Operations.
- Develop and execute asset business plans aligned with strategic and operational goals.
- Drive portfolio-wide renewable initiatives—such as solar and battery storage—to reduce costs and carbon emissions.
- Financial Reporting and Analytics : monitor portfolio performance, deliver stakeholder reports, and lead financial planning across all managed assets.
- Act as Stakeholder & Commercial Energy Manager : Drive stakeholder engagement and commercial success across our energy portfolio. This includes managing PPAs, retailer negotiations, and regulatory compliance, while fostering strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and external partners including property managers, consultants, tenants, utilities, and government bodies.
- Risk and Compliance : Ensure asset compliance across commercial, environmental, and energy regulations; conduct risk assessments; and drive ESG performance aligned with sustainability targets and industry standards.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in business, finance, or property-related discipline.Minimum 8-10 years demonstrated experience in managing commercial real estate and energy assets within complex portfolios.Proven ability and track record in managing P&L for income-generating assets, with strong commercial acumen.Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis.Excellent organisational and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.Highly disciplined and organised, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet critical deadlines, and deliver against program milestones in dynamic environments.Thrives in high-pressure environments, with a proven ability to pivot and work in an agile workplace.Proven experience with embedded energy networks and understanding of relevant regulations and technologies.Familiarity with distributed energy resources and energy management practices.Knowledge of ESG reporting and green building standards such as NABERS and Green Star.Exposure to Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and renewable energy investments.Understanding of retail energy pricing, billing systems, and compliance frameworks (AER / NER).Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.Alignment with Energy Bay’s mission and values.#J-18808-Ljbffr
