About the Team

Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains. With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.

The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.

About the Opportunity

To effectively and efficiently deliver long welded rail lengths in line with business requirements to meet quality, timeliness and safety related objectives of ARTC re-railing works.

• Operate machines, grinders, cranes in accordance with manufacturers specifications, training will be provided
• Perform set manual tasks as directed by Work Group Leader or Team Manager to assist in the operations of the Flashbutt Welding Depot
• Load rail rakes by moving long lengths of rail via Gantry Cranes
• Unload rail pairs and move short rail via Gantry Cranes or front-end loader
• Use hand tools (hammers, crow bars, applicators) when required
• Contribute to the positive culture within the Flashbutt team consistent with ARTC values
• Housekeeping duties
• Basic paperwork, mostly written
• Carry out inspections, report breakdowns
• Assist other trades and Infrastructure Maintainers to complete works within the Flashbutt Welding Depot
• Report consumable stock used
• Participate in projects and undertake other duties as requested
