Job description

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead data integration projects and data management activities to ensure outputs satisfy QGSO standards for integrity, governance, accuracy and timeliness.

Access, process, link, analyse and manage data using tools such as R, Gitlab and customised data linkage software.

Develop and implement probabilistic data linkage methodologies and data management processes.

Provide high level technical advice, information and support to clients, senior officers, colleagues and other stakeholders on issues including those related to data quality, linkage and access.

Represent the Office at internal, external and cross-jurisdictional meetings, working groups and other forums.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, data custodians, data users, colleagues and other stakeholders.

Prepare agreements, reports, correspondence and other documentation as required

Participate in the acquisition and maintenance of relevant accreditations, including accreditations under the Commonwealth DATA Scheme.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate :

  • a very high level of knowledge and applied experience in the collection, processing, analysis and management of data including :

o undertaking probabilistic data linkage

o working with confidential / sensitive data

o expertise using R, or the ability to rapidly acquire R skills

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing work priorities in complex and changing environments
  • a collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain working relationships
  • the ability to apply effective judgement, manage risk and lead adherence to good governance principles and practice
  • the ability to build personal and team skills and capability, and continuously improve methodologies and processes.
