The Head of Service, ACT Public Service, is looking to appoint a Director-General to lead the newly established Digital Canberra Directorate (DCBR) that is responsible for overseeing all digital and IT functions across the ACT Public Service.
The Director-General Digital Canberra is a unique leadership opportunity to make a significant contribution to the delivery IT projects and priorities for the ACT Government.
The Director-General who is also the Chief Digital Officer, will lead Digital Canberra including whole of government strategic planning for ICT and cyber security. The Director-General will drive the ACT Government’s digital and data agenda by delivering key digital priorities and outcomes and implement agreed whole of government ICT projects including optimisation and maintenance consistent with the expectations of the government and the community. The Director-General will assist the Government to further adapt its business and frontline leadership to a digital context by devising and executing strategies for whole of government engagement enabled by digital revolution, strengthening the vibrant and diverse digital economy, focusing on the creation of capacity, collaboration and workforce participation and ensuring that the ACT Public Service is digitally innovative, dynamic and capable in its service to the community.
As a member of the ACT Public Service Strategic Board, the Director-General works closely with the Head of Service and other Directors-General on cross-cutting issues and plays a key part in the overall leadership of the ACT Public Service.

Remuneration : The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $489,681 - $504,838 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $433,050.
Contract : The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
