Principal @ Empirical Solutions | Chartered Engineering Associate | Project / Program Manager | Defence Professional | VeteranJoin Empirical Solutions – Lead the Future of Maritime Cyberworthiness Empirical Solutions is seeking an experienced Cyberworthiness Lead to provide expert oversight and strategic guidance across Defence maritime cyber initiatives. You'll work closely with engineering leadership and multidisciplinary teams to shape policy, review technical artefacts, and drive alignment with national cyber security standards.

This role is based in Canberra, offering a unique opportunity to shape cyber assurance and governance in complex Defence environments.

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in professionals with proven capability in :

Defence cyberworthiness and information assuranceGovernance frameworks including ISM, DSPF, and PSPFCybersecurity planning and technical documentation developmentLeading technical engagements across multi-agency or stakeholder settingsKey Responsibilities

In this role, you will :

Develop and update core artefacts that support Defence cyber governance, including : Cyberworthiness PlansCybersecurity Management PlansCyber High-Level RequirementsSupporting policy documentationReview cyber-related artefacts produced by technical and project teamsProvide expert advice at working groups and technical forums covering cyber and software domainsMaintain active engagement with key Defence and Government stakeholders to align efforts with evolving directives and cyber policiesMonitor, interpret, and implement policy updates and cybersecurity guidanceAbout You

You'll bring :

Essential : Deep understanding of ISM, DSPF, and PSPF frameworksEssential : Demonstrated experience delivering ICT solutions within DefenceDesirable : Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Auditor credentialStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for stakeholder engagementSecurity & Compliance

Due to Defence data requirements and potential access to US Government-controlled IP, successful candidates must be eligible for NV1 Security Clearance and may need to obtain either Third Party Retransfer approval or specific ITAR authorisation. Dual citizenship or ITAR-proscribed country of origin may affect eligibility.
