About the Role

Hastings Deering is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join our high performing team. We are looking for someone with impeccable work ethics who likes to learn, seize opportunities and take responsibility for achieving excellence whilst working as part of a great team.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with customers to develop functional specifications for new mechanical designs
• Design solutions to meet the required functional specifications
• Undertake management of design projects when assigned
• Conduct design related risk assessments
• Produce design plan documentation
• Ensure that drawings are completed prior to the committed drawing release date
• Investigate and recommend design modifications to eliminate any customer issues associated with engineering solutions

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
• Experience in the heavy machinery industry would be highly desirable
• Hydraulic experience and knowledge will be advantageous
• Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or similar software
• Excellent communication skills
