Overview

This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026 with possible extension.

The Role

Parkfield PS is seeking a contemporary and engaging Science Teacher to join our teaching team. We are seeking applicants who are motivated, innovative and possess high quality teaching skills and knowledge. They will be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.

It is highly desirable that applicants are committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. As a member of our team, you will ideally be kind and caring, flexible and innovative, with a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs displaying an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. The successful applicant’s teaching program will be hands on and inquiry based to develop science concepts, with a strong focus on the explicit teaching of Science Inquiry Skills. Coordinating and promoting events like Science Week to the community will be an expected part of the role.

  • hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
