Our valued client, INPEX, is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join their Development team on the Bonaparte CCS Project.

Primary Objective

  • Support the technical delivery of the BCCS pre-FEED reference case Basis of Design with all associated deliverables including internal PD&E deliverables to successfully pass the DP3 gate.
  • Coordinate technical facilities definition requirements for all regulatory and environmental approvals documentation and information requests.
  • Support the Define and Execute stage project execution planning and steward the development of FEED contract tender documents and tender clarification process.
  • Stand-in for the BCCS Technical Delivery Manager for the contract management activities, including pre-FEED 3rd party engineering contractor, vendors, and technical consultants, as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Risk and Uncertainty Management

  • Ensure that risks and uncertainties are identified and objectively recorded in the project risk register and relevant deliverables and communicated to decision makers.
  • Leadership and Teamwork

  • Work closely and collaboratively with team members within the pre-Development team and the Development division, and with the 3rd party Contractor and Vendor personnel.
  • Steward the Basis of Design and Design Specification updates, tracking progress and coordinating with assigned contributors and reviewers including Technical Authorities.
  • Coordinate and participate in the delivery of internal pre-FEED PD&E documentation to support FEED entry.
  • Coordinate stage gate peer assists and reviews.
  • Excellent project engineering skills, such as coordinating technical work scope inputs, summarizing key study outputs and conclusions across technical disciplines, and preparing decision support documentation for stakeholder communication.
  • Provide a focal point for the technical interface coordination between the BCCS Phase 1 development, the regulatory and environmental approvals teams and the other interfacing parties.
  • Provide guidance to the offshore & onshore construction and execute plans.
  • Support preparation of technical input for joint venture technical committee meetings, information requests, progress meetings and assurance events.
  • Technical & Project Engineering

  • Steward the New technology qualification programs including updating of the New Technology Management Plan for FEED.
  • Coordinate and where applicable develop the technical FEED ITT documents (Scope of work, Company Provided Information, etc). Manage tender clarification process in close consultation with contracting department.
  • Update PEP and Contracting Strategy documents and seek stakeholder input.
  • Identifying specifications and standards for FEED and construction for inclusion in FEED ITT, and for the Execute stage EPC contracts.
  • Coordinate the development of the Basis of Design.
  • Peer Assists, Peer Reviews and Assurance Review material preparation and coordination support.
  • Qualifications

  • Tertiary engineering qualifications, preferably marine or mechanical engineering.
  • Skills and Experience Requirements

  • 15 years oil and gas industry experience in subsea system and pipeline engineering.
  • Background in offshore oil and gas project delivery, preferably including pipeline and subsea equipment design, installation, and pre-commissioning.
  • Project experience covering pre-FEED, FEED and Execute phases.
  • Engineering management experience managing internal teams, and monitor and manage work tasks experience with external contractors and consultants.
  • Demonstrated focus on and belief in improving HSE outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of stage gated project maturation processes including project assurance processes, such as peer reviews and assurance reviews.
  • Highly motivated with proven leadership skills of multidisciplined teams and in multicultural environments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and consistently with 3rd party service providers.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels of the organisation.
  • Patience, flexibility and an ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
