Business Analyst

Location : Oran Park Administration Building – 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park, NSW 2570

Employment Type : Temporary Full Time – Up to 3 Years

Salary : $100,738 – $115,439 p.a. + Superannuation

About the Role

Join the IT Strategy & Portfolio team to drive business analysis activities within projects and programs across the Digital Technology & Innovation branch. As a Business Analyst you will take ownership of business analysis activities within streams of work, engaging with diverse stakeholders to understand and elicit requirements, and leading solution design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct elicitation, analysis and documentation of business requirements for new and existing systems.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to ensure objectives are understood and supported by high‑quality business cases.
  • Lead solution design workshops and support the delivery of customer‑facing systems such as Customer and Stakeholder Relationship Management.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage multiple priority streams, ensuring delivery aligns with organisational strategies and deadlines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the evolving digital transformation roadmap.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis, requirements gathering and technical communication.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to operate in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strategic, critical and innovative mindset.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills enabling autonomous work and collaborative contribution.
  • Relationship management skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as IIBA CCBA or PRINCE2.
  • Experience with toolsets including MS Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project and ERP systems in a council or government setting.
  • Previous local government experience.
