About The Role

We are seeking a Supervising Scientist / Laboratory Manager to join our team of talented individuals at our Tamworth laboratory. Working in a team of 3 and reporting to the Laboratory Operations Manager, this is a dynamic role managing the supervision of laboratory staff as well as hands on laboratory work.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Supervising a laboratory with two other medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology / Coagulation / Blood Bank)
• Prioritising work-flows to meet client’s requirements
• Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times
• Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
• Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
• Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required
