About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Secondary campus for two suitably qualified Special Needs Education Assistants to join our team in 2026.
We are seeking individuals who hold a Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent), with a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. These full-time positions are offered for the duration of the 2026 school year, made available through funding and extended leave coverage.

Special Needs Education Assistant
Special Needs Assistants carry out duties as directed by the Head of Secondary and work under the guidance of the Learning Enrichment Coordinator and / or classroom teacher as designated by the Head of Secondary.
Special Needs Assistants need to meet the special needs of the student(s) in his / her care and to assist in the delivery of relevant educational programmes.
Special Needs Assistants are required to, under the guidance of the classroom teacher :
Pastoral Care
As an Anglican School, pastoral care is extremely important at Frederick Irwin Anglican School. This is a role of the teachers who manage the supervision and welfare of the students while at school.

The successful candidate will :
Completion of an approved Education Assistant course (or equivalent)
Current Working with Children Check
Current National Police Clearance
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting
