Cyber Security Operations Manager (SOC Manager) (BH-43173)

Location Sydney, Australia Sector IT Salary $170,000.00 to $200,000.00 per annum

Join a global financial services organisation embarking on a major uplift of its cybersecurity capability. This newly created role offers the opportunity to lead a modern, hybrid Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment spanning cloud, endpoint, and network security.

The Role :

You’ll lead day-to-day cybersecurity operations across a dual‑SIEM and managed SOC setup. The role is hands‑on and delivery‑focused, providing technical oversight, vendor management, and incident response leadership for a global enterprise environment.

You’ll work closely with the CISO, security engineering, and infrastructure teams to drive continuous improvement in detection, response, and threat visibility.

Responsibilities :

Manage and coordinate a hybrid SOC (internal and managed service model);
Oversee incident detection, triage, investigation, and response;
Hold the external provider accountable for SLAs, reporting, and quality;
Lead or support threat and HR‑related investigations;
Continuously enhance SOC processes, automation, and playbooks;
Ensure alignment to MITRE ATT&CK and best‑practice frameworks; and
Produce metrics and executive reports demonstrating operational maturity.

Requirements :

5+ years in Security Operations or Incident Response, including leadership experience;

Proven background managing a hybrid or managed SOC environment;

Hands‑on experience with Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Defender, or similar enterprise tools;

Solid understanding of incident response frameworks and investigation processes; and

Strong vendor management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
