Are you a creative, community‑focused leader with a passion for libraries, children’s literacy and children’s and youth programming?

Waverley Council is looking for a dynamic Team Leader – Library Children and Young People, to lead the planning and delivery of innovative programs, events and workshops for the children and youth of our community.

What you’ll be doing

Develop and deliver innovative, high‑quality library services that inspire, engage and support children, teens, and families.

Lead and support a dynamic team delivering programs and services for children and young people.

Drive service excellence through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.

Build strong partnerships with community organisations to enhance service reach and impact.

What you’ll bring

Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or other relevant area of study / experience.

1‑2 years’ experience in a children’s library setting, project management and staff supervision, with proven capacity to lead and develop staff.

Demonstrated experience in children’s programming / education.

Proven ability to embrace change and engage, lead and inspire others to achieve outcomes for the benefit of the organisation and community.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with difficult customers.

Current Working with Children Check.
