Sustainability Lead

Reporting to the Senior Director of Investor Relations & Sustainability, the purpose of this role is to support Zip’s maturity and approach to sustainability and ESG through strategic leadership and project management of key social impact programs and external disclosures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Group’s sustainability strategy in line with Zip’s sustainability pillars – Financial Inclusion and Customer Wellbeing; Inclusion, Talent Management, and Community; and Environmental Impact.
- Lead sustainability initiatives across material ESG topics, working cross-functionally with teams including People & Culture, Product, and Operations.
- Provide progress updates, insights and strategic advice to senior leadership and the Board relating to sustainability and alignment with business strategy.
- Manage and ensure accurate and timely delivery of external disclosures aligned to recognised frameworks (e.g. CDP, CSA, AASB) and respond to external ESG benchmarks and surveys.
- Provide sustainability data and insights to support Zip’s external communications, including our Annual Report, Quarterly updates, and AGM meetings.
- Lead Zip’s preparation for upcoming AASB Sustainability reporting requirements, collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as Finance and Legal and external consultants as required.
- Manage the measurement of Zip’s GHG emissions across scope 1, 2 and 3 and assess potential targets and decarbonization pathways.
- Evolve and implement Zip’s sustainability narrative in collaboration with the Communications and Executive teams.
- Engage Zipsters in sustainability through internal communications, events, and opportunities to contribute.
- Engage Zipsters in community partnerships and volunteering initiatives, including planning company volunteer events with P&C.
Qualifications
At least eight years technical and functional experience relating to sustainability / corporate social responsibility / ESG.Experience leading disclosure programs and developing sustainability strategies.Strong communication and influencing skills and ability to distil complex information in a concise way to stakeholders.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Ability to work with stakeholders of all levels, markets and business units.Good relationship building skills and proactive stakeholder engagement.A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.Values : Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together, Change the Game.Benefits
