We offer a competitive salary ranging from $86,156 to $98,107 for Prison Officers on shift, with an initial 12-week training salary of $66,658 plus superannuation.

Salaries are subject to increase upon registration of the Prison Officer Industrial Agreement 2024.

    • You will be supported by experienced staff and management, working together to keep the WA community safe.

    We are currently recruiting Prison Officers for facilities in Perth metropolitan area, Albany, Bunbury, Greenough (Geraldton), Roebourne, and West Kimberley (Derby).

    In Perth, placements include Bandyup (West Swan), Casuarina (Casuarina), Hakea (Canning Vale), or Melaleuca (Canning Vale).

    Role Overview

    You will interact with prisoners across various security levels on a 24 / 7 roster. Your responsibilities include ensuring the safety, security, and efficient operation of prisons, as well as managing prisoners effectively. You can make a significant impact by modeling positive behaviors and motivating prisoners to develop skills and knowledge for reintegration into the community, thereby reducing re-offending risks.

    • Experience and Training Opportunities

    Qualified adult custodial officers with relevant experience may qualify for an Accelerated Training Program (ATP) at the Academy, allowing shorter training durations. Refer to the Information Booklet for details.

    • Include detailed examples demonstrating your skills, knowledge, and abilities. This process is highly competitive, and responses will be evaluated during shortlisting.
