AWS Platform Engineer (BBBH19403) Sydney, Australia

Salary : AUD140,000 - AUD160,000 per annum + Super (+ certification budget)

Talenza is partnering with an ASX listed Enterprise to find an AWS Platform Engineer. The role focuses on owning the organisation’s Cloud roadmap, architecting, designing, and uplifting the client’s Cloud posture within a fully in‑house engineering environment. The enterprise operates a federated, centralised IT team servicing separate business arms.

Key technical responsibilities include :

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, EC2, Auto Scaling, FSx, S3, Route 53, ELB, CloudWatch, WAF, CloudFront, EKS).
  • Develop and manage IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Automate operations with scripting (PowerShell) and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Administer Windows Server environments (DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, IIS).
  • Maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix) and perform non‑disruptive upgrades.

What you’ll bring :

  • 5+ years in a similar role or deep technical expertise.
  • Proven experience managing large‑scale, 24x7 enterprise production environments.
  • Advanced skills in AWS infrastructure, networking, compute & storage, identity & access, monitoring & security, DNS & load balancing, and container orchestration (EKS).
  • Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with automation, orchestration tools, scripting, and CI / CD integration.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server administration, including DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, IIS.
  • Hands‑on experience with VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix.
  • Skillful in performing non‑disruptive upgrades and proactive infrastructure maintenance.
