The opportunity

You will play an important role in supporting strong and effective governance at Warrigal by providing high-level administrative and governance support to the Company Secretary and CEO. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Board Chair, Directors, Executive Leaders, and Company Members, contributing to the smooth operation of governance processes and helping to deliver positive outcomes across the organisation. You’ll be involved in preparing agendas, minutes and board materials, managing follow-up actions, and supporting clear and timely communication between the Executive and the Board.

You’ll assist with managing Warrigal’s regulatory reporting and compliance obligations, including those to the ACNC, ACQSC and ASIC, ensuring the organisation meets its responsibilities under the Aged Care Act and as a Company Limited by Guarantee. Your work will include coordinating AGM activities, maintaining statutory registers and records, and supporting the ongoing review and improvement of governance frameworks and policies.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, and values working in a purpose-driven environment. You’ll also help support the onboarding and development of Directors, playing a key part in strengthening governance and leadership across Warrigal.

  • You’re organised and analytical, autonomous and a critical thinker.  You will come with a proven ability to manage governance processes smoothly and efficiently.
  • You build strong relationships with ease and enjoy working with people at all levels, from Board members to senior executives.
  • You’re passionate about ensuring high standards of governance and delivering smooth, effective operations across the organisation
  • An understanding of corporate governance, particularly within not-for-profit organisations, would be highly valued.

  • What it takes to do this work

    Essential :

  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative support to a Company Secretary, Board, or in a similar governance-related role.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail, even under pressure, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with individuals at all levels of seniority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with BoardEffect and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement in a professional setting.
  • Experience in implementing new processes and improving existing systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, as some meetings may require adjustments to your regular work hours.
  • Desirable :

  • Experience working with the Board of a not-for-profit organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care sector, with an understanding of the legislative requirements for Approved Aged Care Providers.
